| About Honor Air
Jeff Miller’s, HonorAir, was formed in 2006 to escort local Hendersonville, NC WWII Veterans to Washington, DC to visit the WWII Memorial, as well as the Korean War Veterans’, Vietnam Veterans’ Memorials and the Arlington National Cemetery. Over 60 charted flights have been completed since 2006.
The World War II Memorial was dedicated in 2004 for a generation whose youngest member is in their late seventies. Many of the men and women who fought and sacrificed for our country have not had an opportunity, or ability, to visit. HonorAir has created an opportunity for so many Veterans who, because of physical or financial limitations, may otherwise never see their Memorial.
Eligible candidates are those individuals who do not have a problem with flying, motion, sea or air sickness, or walking the length of a football field without assistance. The flight is reserved specifically for Veterans, and seats for spouses are not available, although spouses, children, and grandchildren are encouraged to arrange flights to meet the Veterans at the WWII Memorial to celebrate this monumental and memorable event.
